A double amputee pensioner who was spared jail for explicit chats with who he thought was a young girl has been caged for having a secret phone.
As Chronicle Live reported previously in 2019, Raymond Straughan, 70, invited the " child ", 12, who turned out to be a fake Facebook profile set up by a vigilante group, to his home to meet his cats and said that he wanted her to move in with him so they could have sex every night.
Straughan, of Gateshead, was handed a suspended sentence for that offence and a sexual harm prevention order which meant that he had to declare any internet enabled devices to police, as reported by Chronicle Live.
