Since becoming Nigma Galaxy, this Dota 2 team hasn't been getting the results it wanted. Even then most of the core team that won The International 2017 remained intact. That all changed this week with what seems to be a much need roster change.
Let's start with Maroun "GH" Merhej who made the decision to take a break from competitive Dota to have more time with his family and loved ones. This had Nigma putting him on the inactive roster. It wasn't the same for Ivan "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov, which must have come as a surprise to a lot of fans. That's because it looks like the team has parted ways with the player.
Finally, there's Yuma "Yuma" Langlet who was let go as well. Yuma was brought in to serve as replacement for Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf. All of these movements resulted in Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi being the only one left on the roster. That wouldn't be the case for long as Nigma officially brought back none other than the King himself Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan. Hopefully we'll get to see who gets added to the roster over the next few days.
The Alliance is No More
Nigma Galaxy isn't the only European team that's making big roster moves. Alliance announced that the entire roster has been released. Co-owners Jonathan "Loda" Berg and Kelly "kellymilkies" Ong Xiao Wei revealed in a statement that while majority of the roster was confirmed, they weren't able to reach an agreement with two of the players. As a result, a decision was made to scrap the project. The organization admits that the team hasn't been delivering the results that was expected from them. However, they are working to build a team that everyone can be proud of and even cheer for.
While this indeed sad news for the fans, kellymilkies assured everyone that while they have no team at the moment, there are no plans for Alliance to exit Dota.
No More Streams
While not a roster move, OG also made an announcement that surprised a lot in the community. The organization has parted ways with their streamer Janne "Gorgc" Stefanovski. No reason was given except a statement saying that they were able to create those "unforgettable moments together this year" and that they're thankful for him being able to teach Ceb how to use Twitch chat.
Dota 2 is available for the PC via Steam.
