Donald Trump slams Piers Morgan as 'a fool' in most explosive interview of the year

Former US president Donald Trump cut off his world-exclusive interview with Piers Morgan after an explosive exchange on the host's new TV show. Trump called Morgan dishonest and a "fool" before refusing to continue, as he stormed off and shouted "turn the camera off", the Mirror reported.

Dubbed the most "explosive" interview of the year, the conversations escalated in some incredible scenes that will be screened on the launch show of Piers Uncensored on TalkTV on Monday at 8pm. Trump, who Morgan has previously described as his friend, was grilled over the 2020 US presidential election in the chat, which Trump has consistently and baselessly claimed was rigged against him.

The interview was their first televised exchange since Trump departed office, and in the teaser for the show Trump tells the former Good Morning Britain host: "Okay Piers I'm ready," as the voiceover calls him a "former president in denial".

As the duo continue to talk over each other, it concludes with Trump getting up and walking out of his seat, although it's not confirmed how long the chat went on for before the incident. Trump tells Piers: "You’re not real. You’re a fake," to which Piers replies: "No, I’m just brutally honest."

At one stage, Trump tells Piers: "I'm a very honest man, much more honest than you," in the interview dubbed by the show as 'Morgan vs Trump'. Ending their chat, he tells Morgan: "Let's finish up the interview. Turn the camera off. Very dishonest."

The new global show will go on air with the UK launch of TalkTV on linear TV platforms Sky, Virgin Media, Freeview and Freesat. Uncensored will also air on Fox Nation in the US and Sky News in Australia.

The show is described as a “fearless forum for lively, intelligent debate and agenda-setting interviews, celebrating free speech and the right for people to share their views”. Morgan has also exacted the "ultimate revenge" on his former bosses at ITV by poaching the six key production staff from the channel to come over to lead his primetime show.
