Donald Trump has claimed he will be arrested on Tuesday over payments towards the porn actress Stormy Daniels to buy her silence over an alleged sexual relationship.

Writing on his Truth Social website, the ex-president said "will be arrested on Tuesday of next week" and ordered his followers to "take our nation back" in response.

Prosecutors in New York are making security preparations for the possibility that Trump could be indicted in the coming weeks and appear in a Manhattan courtroom in the investigation examining hush money paid to Daniels and other women who alleged sexual encounters with him.
