Dublin star Donal Skehan has bought his first house after 17 years of renting.
The RTE star and celebrity chef moved back to Dublin from LA with wife Sofie and their two sons Noah and Oliver back in 2020 during the pandemic, wanting to be close to family. The 36-year-old and his family now have their own place to call home, and they're over the moon.
Taking to Instagram, Donal was thrilled to share the news with his followers. He shared a sweet pic of himself and wife Sofia with a set of keys, writing: "We got the keys! Our first home!

"It’s been 17 years as renters and today we are finally bloody homeowners! The last few years have been madness as we've moved home to Ireland from LA with 4 house moves in 3 years with 2 kiddos (oh and that whole pandemic yoke!!!)."
The Howth native said that the family now feels like it is "exciting to finally put down roots close to home." Donal said: "There've been many sleepless nights and stress over the last year or so trying to get it all done, definitely a story for another day, so let's just say we are very grateful to have the keys in our hands today!
"Huge thank you to everyone who has been on the journey with us. Time to get cracking on how to turn the very cute shell of house into a home and dream up some kitchen and veggie garden plans! YEOW!" he added.
Donal and Sofie's announcement was immediately met with delight from their family and celebrity friends. RTE presenter Anna Geary wrote: "Huge congrats @donalskehan."
RTE Dancing with the Stars judge Arthur Gourounlian commented: 'I am beyond proud of you you beauties. But onto the serious stuff. As you know, RED is my favorite color so that would be great for my room. I'll furnish myself it’s ok YAY'.
Brian Dowling Gourounlian wished the family well in their new home, saying: "Yes darling so happy for the both of you @sofieskehan Can’t wait to visit."
