'Don't really care' - Cristiano Ronaldo launches scathing attack on Manchester United owners the Glazers

Cristiano Ronaldo has also fired criticism at the Glazer family for how they have run Manchester United, claiming that they 'don't care' about the club.

The latest bombshell from Ronaldo comes from another snippet released from his explosive interview with Piers Morgan. The first set of quotes from the 90-minute interview were released on Sunday night and have caused shockwaves within the club.

Ronaldo took aim at United manager Erik ten Hag, claiming he does not 'respect' the Dutchman, and that he feels 'betrayed' by the club and as though he is being forced out of Old Trafford. This is despite the fact the Portuguese went public with his own desire to leave United for a second time in the summer.

In the latest quotes released from the interview, Ronaldo turned his attention to the Glazer family, saying that they don't care about the sporting side of the club.

"The owners of the club listen, the Glazers, they don't care about the club," he told Piers Morgan. "I mean professional sport as you know Manchester is a marketing club, they will get is money from the marketing, the sports they don't really care, in my opinion."

"Never, no," he replied when asked if he has ever talked to the owners since returning to the club. "They give all the power to the president, sport directive."

Morgan then asked if United fans are right to be angry towards the Glazers. Ronaldo replied: "The fans are always right. The fans should know the truth, should know the players want the best for the club.

"I want the best for the club this is why I come into Manchester United, this is why I love this club. But you have some things inside the club that don't help Manchester reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal for example. Which is complicated, it's difficult, it's hard. In my opinion, it will be hard for Manchester to be top of the game next two, three years."

United released a brief statement on Monday afternoon in response to Ronaldo's interview. It read: “Manchester United notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo. The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established,” the statement said. “Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.”

Yet more quotes are expected to be released throughout the week.
