The Miami Dolphins introduced Vic Fangio Monday afternoon and social media was all atwitter. There’s nothing like scrolling through Dolphins Twitter to understand the fan base’s climate.
Fever pitch may be an understatement, as the many tweets indicated through a fan base clamoring for the last few pieces of a championship puzzle that have eluded the franchise for decades.
Fangio brings his defensive scheme and his knowledge, fresh off of what he called a “college professor-like sabbatical.” Interestingly enough, he said that a key component in the type of coach he wants on his staff is a “teacher.”
He started off well bringing in a once-coaching apprentice in Denver, Renaldo Hill, who also happens to be a former Dolphin as well as an assistant in his NFL life thus far.
As you can imagine, Dolphins Twitter is ready for the offseason to truly, well, kick-off.
"When you think about the Dolphins you think about Don Shula, Dan Marino, the heyday in the 70s, the 17-0 season"

Could Vic Fangio become a modern day Bill Arnsparger, what Arns was to Don Shula? pic.twitter.com/rmPZjbOoJw

Vic Fangio is the best coach Miami has had since Jimmy Johnson.

Vic Fangio said that he spent a large amount of his year off, with a full study set-up. He shared that he’s come up with some brand new things he’s excited to try.
I’m even more excited to watch. Seems he’s staying one step ahead of his copycats.#FinsUp

Vic Fangio's impact on Miami is one to watch.
The coverage usage will be similar, but the amount of pass rushers will differ.

Vic Fangio is a no nonsense type of Coach. Straight and to the point hard nose mentality…. The perfect compliment to Mike McDaniel’s style. There’s something special brewing in Miami #MiamiDolphins #Finsup
