Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Terron Armstead was ruled out for the remainder of a Week 3 game against the Seattle Seahawks due to an eye injury, the team announced just before halftime.
The nature of the eye issue for Armstead or how he suffered it are not yet known.
Armstead, 33, dealt with a shoulder injury in Week 2 and twice exited the game due to the issue. The five-time Pro Bowl left tackle was replaced in the lineup last week and in Week 3 by versatile veteran Kendall Lamm.
Injuries are not new for Armstead and have followed him for much of his career. He never played more than 15 games in his first 11 NFL seasons and missed seven games during the 2023 season due to several different injuries.
Armstead contemplated retirement in the offseason before opting to return for another season. Lamm may also be calling it a career soon, as he called 2024 his “last ride.” The Dolphins picked offensive tackle Patrick Paul in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft, who played his first offensive snaps Sunday in Seattle.
