During halftime of their game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Miami Dolphins announced that their senior vice president of communications and community affairs Jason Jenkins died Saturday.
The cause of death hasn’t been announced, to this point.
Jenkins, 47, started with the Dolphins in 2009 after working with the San Francisco 49ers, Texas Southern University and Leigh University. He was promoted to his SVP role in 2015.
Many will remember Jenkins for his involvement in the South Florida community. Whether it was his support for survivors and victims of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School or helping the Trayvon Martin Foundation, Jenkins was always willing to give back.
Trailblazer. Champion. Kind.
