Doctors to refer people with depression to job coaches under new government plan

Doctors in England will be encouraged to refer patients to the gym or job coaches instead of signing them off as "not fit for work", under a new government pilot scheme.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting told The Times the UK’s economy could no longer afford to "keep writing people off".
