Tom Baker has said that he steers clear of other Doctor Who stars because he is "contemptuous" of them.
The 89-year-old actor, who played the fourth Time Lord from 1974 to 1981, is regarded by the sci-fi show's fans as one of the best to have stepped into the role.
But despite his popularity and legendary status as the Doctor, he's ruled out returning to the show if it means appearing alongside other Time Lord actors.
He said: “I avoid them, you know. Not with any malice. A degree of contempt, perhaps but mildly, mildly contemptuous."
Baker also said he would not have lunch with his other Doctor Who stars, unlike other actors who have played the same character.
“Unthinkable!" he told Radio Times. "Fancy being round a table with old Doctor Whos.
“Though I’d quite like to walk into a restaurant and find 12 of them around the table – I’d enjoy doing that double take, as I desperately tried to remember who they were.
“I could keep that going for hours. Oh, I can feel the malice rising.”
The actor, who didn't explain why he had this disdain towards his fellow Time Lords, made the candid confession as David Tennant is set to return to screens in his reprised role as the Doctor.
The 52-year-old, who played the 10th Time Lord between 2005 and 2010, will star alongside Catherine Tate who is back as his companion Donna, in three special episodes for the show’s 60th anniversary kicking off on November 25.
He regenerated as the 14th Doctor following last year’s exit of Jodie Whittaker.
Despite Baker's aversion to the other stars, he has returned in the past to participate in projects associated with it alongside his fellow Time Lords.
Back in 2013, he appeared during the 50th anniversary special called The Day Of The Doctor, which also saw Tennant return to the role during Matt Smith’s tenure.
The esteemed list of actors who have starred in the role include, William Hartnell, Jon Pertwee, Patrick Troughton, Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy, Colin Baker and Paul McGann.
Christopher Eccleston and Peter Capaldi are also among the actors to have played the mysterious time traveller.
The Scottish-Rwandan actor Ncuti Gatwa, 31, will make history next year when he becomes the first black actor to become the Doctor.
