Authorities in Los Angeles are currently on the lookout for a suspect involved in the tragic shooting of a well-known doctor who catered to movie stars and athletes. The incident occurred on August 23 at approximately 6:12 p.m. in the 5900 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered the victim, identified as 61-year-old Dr. Hamid Mirshojae, with a fatal gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at his workplace.

Described as a highly respected figure in the Woodland Hills area, Dr. Mirshojae was known for his compassionate nature and dedication to helping others. A family friend, Maryem Alaei, shared sentiments about his positive impact, highlighting his jovial personality and commitment to assisting those in need.

At present, authorities have not determined a motive for the attack, and the shooter reportedly fled the scene on foot. Details regarding the suspect remain undisclosed.

Reports from clinic staff revealed a prior incident where Dr. Mirshojae was allegedly ambushed by three individuals wielding baseball bats just months before his tragic death.

A memorial has been set up outside the medical center in honor of the late doctor, with a vigil held to commemorate his life and contributions to the community.

Dr. Mirshojae's untimely passing has left behind a grieving family, including his wife and 6-month-old baby who were out of the country at the time of the incident. Additionally, he is survived by three adult children from a previous marriage.

Known for his extensive experience in urgent and emergency care spanning over two decades, Dr. Mirshojae also specialized in addictionology for more than 10 years. His online biography attests to his significant impact on numerous patients, including celebrities, movie stars, athletes, and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
