Covid has been around for a while now and we all know the three main symptoms off by heart. But what about when it comes so similar illnesses that have the same symptoms and how can we therefore tell the difference?
According to the John Hopkins Medical website (JHM), the virus can cause pneumonia stating that the illness can cause air sacs in the lungs to fill with fluid, limiting an individual's ability to take in oxygen and causing shortness of breath, coughing and other symptoms.
And whilst most people recover from pneumonia without any lasting lung damage, JHM states that the pneumonia associated with Covid-19 can be severe and even after the disease has passed, lung injury may result in breathing difficulties that might take months to improve.
