Aussie rockers DMA's have been added to Newcastle's Portside Festival line-up in December.

They join Hockey Dad, San Cisco, Keli Holiday, RAAVE Tapes and Sumner on day one of the two-day festival at The Station Newcastle on December 21.

Day two (December 22) brings The Living End, Birds of Tokyo, Eskimo Joe, Killing Heidi, 28 Days and Butterknife to the city's central business district.

The festival is coming to town courtesy of the team at Earp Distilling Co at Carrington, under the Earp Presents banner, with ticket sales capped at 4500 for each day of the festival.

DMA'S (Tommy O'Dell, Matt Mason, Johnny Took) have gone from strength to strength since exploding onto the scene in 2014 with their debut single Delete.

They've released four critically acclaimed albums - Hills End (2016), For Now (2018), THE GLOW (2020) and How Many Dreams? (2023) - which all charted Top 10 in the ARIA Charts. They won an ARIA for Best Group (2023), and have had 13 songs chart in the triple j hottest 100, including No.1 in 2023 for Believe (Cher) Like A Version.

Forging their live reputation home and abroad, DMA'S have played massive festival slots at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Splendour in The Grass, Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds festivals. In 2019 the Sydney natives played sold-out shows across the Australia, UK and Ireland, and supported Liam Gallagher's UK arena tour.

The band's third studio album, THE GLOW, debuted at No.2 on the ARIA Charts, No.4 in the UK and No.1 in Scotland. It went on to be nominated for four ARIA awards, and won three AIR Awards in 2021 for Independent Album Of The Year, Best Independent Rock Album and Best Independent Dance, Electronica or Club single for the Avalanches remix of Criminals.

How Many Dreams? followed in the successful footsteps of THE GLOW, achieving No.2 on the ARIA Charts, No.3 in the UK, and No.2 in Scotland.

Earp Presents is also bringing the two-day Over The Ditch Festival to The Station in February, featuring The Cat Empire, The Temper Trap, Cub Sport, Holy Holy, The Terrys, Jack River, Beddy Rays, L.A.B, Katchafire, Coterie, Kora, South Summit and TOI.

Tickets to both festivals are on sale now at earppresents.com.
