In life there are three constants: death, taxes, and another edition of the Madden video game franchise. Each year, EA Sports releases yet another version of the game, giving slight updates to rosters, teams and individual players. While the quality of the play will likely be the same, it still generates an incredible amount of hype… specifically seeing who the top rated players are.
Unfortunately for fans of the Seattle Seahawks, there are two noticeable omissions in the top 10 when it comes to the highest rated wide receivers: DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

When looking at all the official ratings for every wide receiver in the NFL, you have to scroll quite a ways until you see either Lockett or Metcalf. For Madden 25, Lockett comes in at an 88 overall, and Metcalf is an 86 overall.
An 88 and an 86 are hardly pauper ratings, but they feel off for what Lockett and Metcalf truly bring to the field. The Seahawks are widely regarded as having one of the best wide receiver corps in the NFL, and it is in large part thanks to those two leading the charge.
The good news about Madden is the ratings are adjusted often during the season. I suspect once the games start and the league is able to see what they are able to produce in Ryan Grubb’s new offense, they won’t be ending the season in the mid-to-high 80’s.
