A divorcee who is getting ready to re-enter the dating scene has had Botox done - by his ex-wife. Angus Kennedy, 58, and Sophie Kennedy, 47, finalised their split in January of this year.
But the pair have remained friends - and now she is helping him find love again. Beautician Sophie has already found someone else, but Angus, an author, says he is nervous about dating again in 2023. So he's had work done on his eyebrows and forehead - carried out by his ex.
Angus, from Dartford, Kent, said: "I told Sophie that it’s my last chance to find love. I have been going to the gym, changed my diet and have been buying new clothes.
"She suggested some Botox to get rid of my wrinkles, so I went for it - and I'm really pleased with the result. The fact Sophie went to these lengths to help me meet someone is a testament to our friendship."
The couple filed for divorce in July 2021 after they mutually agreed to go their separate ways. They share five children together, ranging between 11 and 23.
The family had decided in 2019 to swap their spacious home in Kent for a bamboo property in the Ecuadorian jungle. There they had planned to help run a cocoa farm after Angus - a chocolate expert - was offered the opportunity.
But, before finalising any plans, he and Sophie decided to end their marriage. The divorce was finalised in January 2023, which came as a relief to both parties.

But they've remained close friends, and they regularly meet up during the holidays and for family events. Angus will be looking for dates again soon and, to help him do that, Sophie offered to do his Botox.
Last week he had injections in his eyebrows and forehead at The Beauty Clinic Maidstone to get rid of his wrinkles. Sophie administered the Botox, and Angus hopes the work will make finding love a little easier in his older years.
Angus said: "I'd never had any work done before, so I was nervous about the procedure - but I had a lot of trust in Sophie. Looks are very important when finding love, even more so now with online dating.
"The procedure has done wonders for my confidence, which was definitely rocked after the divorce. I mainly had my wrinkles around my eyebrows and forehead ironed out which has given me a fresher face. I hope that helps when I go out dating, but only time will tell I guess."
Sophie usually charges £250 for the type of Botox Angus had done, but after agreeing it with the salon owner, the procedure was on the house.
Sophie said: "I feel it's important Angus has the best chance possible at finding love, and I hope I've played a part in helping him do that"
