JAMMU:: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, presided over a meeting involving Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) officers, on Momday.
The purpose of the gathering was to assess the progress of land acquisition for various road projects underway in Jammu division under NHAI.
The meeting, which included Commissioner JMC Rahul Yadav, Joint Director Geology and Mining, Project Directors of NHAI, and other relevant officers, had participating Deputy Commissioners joining through video conferencing.
Discussions revolved around land acquisition, compensation distribution, and the issuance of necessary NOCs from different departments for Mining permissions. The Div Com inquired about the overall status of the road projects and addressed pending land acquisition issues.
Emphasizing the need for unencumbered land for NHAI, the Div Com instructed DCs to prioritize issue resolution for the seamless progress of these significant road projects. Additionally, they were directed to expedite the disbursement of compensation for land acquisition.
The Div Com urged NHAI officials to maintain regular communication with the concerned Deputy Commissioners to promptly address issues. Furthermore, they were tasked with accelerating the pace of work on all road projects to ensure timely completion.
