Dita Von Teese changes her mind on retiring at 50 as she's 'fitter than ever'

Dita Von Teese has revealed that she feels 'fitter than ever' as she changes her mind on retirement.

The American model and burlesque dancer is feeling more content in her life than ever, and is happy to continue working for as long as she feels that way.

The brunette bombshell previously revealed that she had plans to retire once she hits 50, but she now has no intentions of slowing down when it comes to her career as she continues with her Glamonatrix tour in the UK.

Lifting the lid on how she feels at 50, Dita told: "I feel stronger and fitter than ever, so why slow down?

"I’m really grateful that I live in a time where audiences are receptive to older women setting an example," she told Love Sunday Magazine.

Dita, whose real name is Heather Renée Sweet, also opened up about how she reacts to criticism as she gets older.

The burlesque dancer admitted that she feels very susceptible to criticism in modern society due to social media.

"I think everyone is subject to criticism these days because of the influence of social media," she revealed.

"Everyone has someone come along and comment on their photos, saying, “You don’t look good here”.

"So it’s not just an issue for well-known or public figures."

It comes after Dita recently revealed that she finds her confidence through her signature look.

"Red lipstick, having my hair set how I like it and clothes which I think flatter me. I have a distinctive style that has not swayed for 20 years and we have to stay true to ourselves to feel confident," the star shared.

"And the look has just grown. At first it was a small feather fan and a fist full of rhinestones. Now I buy them by the truckload and the fans are as huge as can be. Go big."
