A MAN was allegedly driving while disqualified with drugs and a knife in his car when police claim he performed a 'donut' in front of them.
A white Holden Commodore captured the attention of highway patrol police in Lake Macquarie just before 12.30am on Saturday, November 2.
Police activated their lights and sirens on Fishery Point Road at Bonnells Bay and allege they saw the vehicle do a 360-degree 'donut' near the intersection with Morisset Park Road.
The Commodore then came to a stop a short distance away on Stan Crescent, police said.
Officers discovered the 26-year-old man behind the wheel was allegedly disqualified from driving, and tested positive to a roadside drug test.
Police will allege in court that a search of the car uncovered "an amount of methylamphetamine and a knife".
The 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Toronto Police Station.
He was charged with a burnout offence, driving while disqualified, supplying a prohibited drug, possessing a prohibited drug and having custody of a knife in a public place.
The man was refused bail by police and spent the weekend in custody before fronting Toronto Local Court.
