Disney 100 exhibition in London: Opening times and how to get tickets

A gigantic archive exhibition celebrating 100 years of the Disney franchise recently opened its doors to the public.

The milestone-themed display officially opened at London’s ExCeL on Friday, October 13, welcoming fans of the animated picture house.

Over the past 100 years, Disney has released timeless classics, such as Pinocchio, Toy Story, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, 101 Dalmatians, Beauty and the Beast, and more.

The 100 years exhibition looks back at the studio’s iconic releases, as Disney lovers will be able to look at props and original artworks from a range of past productions.

What is the Disney exhibition?

The 20,000-square-foot exhibition will feature plenty of interactive fun for families and children. There are “ten extensive, themed galleries with renowned classics from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) to contemporary releases such as Encanto (2021),” the website reads.

Tickets are now on sale and are available via the Disney 100 exhibition website. Tickets for the pening exhibition on Friday are now sold out, but tickets are available for other dates, though they are selling fast.

Where and when is the Disney exhibition?

The 100 years exhibition opened in London on Friday, October 13, at the ExCeLin East London (nearest station is Custom House). It is being held until the end of January 2024.

How else is Disney celebrating its 100th anniversary?

Though the Disney 100th anniversary celebration is a worldwide event, many of the celebrations are taking place at Disneyland Resort in California. This year, there have been new rides, and the return of the Magic Happens parade in February. Internationally, Hong Kong Disneyland will unveil a new statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse.

Over in Disneyland Paris, there will be a one-day-only Disney100 event on October 16. About the big day, they said: “Disneyland Paris will celebrate this historic milestone in an exceptional way by treating its guests to a unique entertainment line-up and exclusive Disney experiences on the day Disney blows out its 100 candles. October 16, 2023, is going to be a day to remember!”

At D23 2022, then Disney CEO Bob Chapek said, “Ten decades of creativity, innovation, and determination created the Walt Disney Company you know today — the most enduring and beloved name in entertainment. It’s an awesome responsibility to lead Disney as we begin our second century of telling stories and creating magic that will endure for another 100 years.”
