Disgraced Matt Hancock is being investigated for lobbying by Parliament's standards watchdog.
The ex-Health Secretary is being looked into for trying to influence the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards when they were making a decision into a breach of the Code of Conduct.
It is unclear exactly for what Mr Hancock was lobbying, with only an outline published on the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards' website.
It said the reason for investigation was: "Lobbying the Commissioner in a manner calculated or intended to influence his consideration of whether a breach of the Code of Conduct has occurred."
Parliament's watchdog received dozens of complaints related to his I'm A Celebrity appearance last year. He was stripped of the Tory whip after going on the show.
He was found to have broken Government rules by not consulting a separate Parliament watchdog for business appointments before appearing on the show.
In 2021 , Mr Hancock was also found to have committed a "minor breach" of ministerial code when NHS contract awarded to sister's company
Daniel Greenberg CB took over as the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, an independent officer of the House of Commons, in January and is tasked with investigating the MP.
Tory MP Scott Benton is also under investigation over his use of his parliamentary email address while Tory MP Henry Smith is being investigated for his use of stationery.
Mr Benton had the Tory whip suspended earlier this month after an undercover Times investigation allegedly showed him offering to lobby ministers on behalf of gambling investors in exchange for money.
A spokesman for Mr Hancock said the investigation by standards commissioner Daniel Greenberg was a "misunderstanding".
"Mr Hancock is shocked and surprised by the investigation," the spokesman said.
"Far from lobbying the commissioner, Matt wrote to Mr Greenberg in good faith to offer some additional evidence that he thought was not only pertinent but helpful for an inquiry the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards is currently conducting.
"It's clearly a misunderstanding and Matt looks forward to fully engaging with the commissioner to clear this up."
