Disabled girl who nearly died from stroke moments after birth says Metallica ‘saved her’

11-year old Sarah suffered a stroke almost immediately after birth - (Collect/PA Real Life)

An 11-year-old girl from Warrington, Cheshire, has credited heavy metal band Metallica for ‘saving’ her after she suffered a severe stroke shortly after birth, leaving her with severe disabilities.

Sofia-Rose Dobson's life was threatened when she experienced a stroke moments after she was born in 2014. The cause of the stroke remains unknown, but her mother, Sarah, 48, said it resulted in blindness, cerebral palsy, autism, and Infantile Epileptic Spasms Syndrome (IESS), leading to regular, sometimes life-threatening, seizures.
