Logan Paul has denied that a fight with Dillon Danis was "100 per cent signed" for January 14 before he tore his medial collateral ligament during a WWE event.
The YouTube star hasn't boxed since the summer of 2021 and was due to return on the same card as KSI next month, before picking up an injury while performing with WWE. Danis insists that the bout was agreed, saying during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour that he had signed a contract for the fight.
However, Paul has hit back at Danis' claim and insisted that he had not fully signed for the bout before he picked up the injury in Saudi Arabia. He and his brother, Jake, share a long-standing rivalry with the MMA fighter, who is signed to Bellator, and he admits that the fight was close to being made for January.
"I was supposed to fight Logan," Danis said. "Logan was completely signed, 100 per cent signed. And we were going to announce it that same date, and then he did that match with Roman Reigns and he blew his knee out. And then they were like, 'Do you want to wait for Logan?'
"So, I could have waited for Logan but then he was like, 'I don't know about my knee, it could be six months'. I was like, 'Dude, I've been out long enough, I want to fight'. So, I just took KSI. If he didn't hurt his knee, I wanted Logan more, because we have more beef, but KSI is good too, I don't give a s***, to be honest, I'm a jiu-jitsu guy about to box for $1million."
However, Paul disputed this claim in recent Instagram comment, claiming that while Danis had signed a contract for the fight, the deal was not done as he had not yet put pen to paper. "I never signed the contract,” Paul wrote. “Dillon did. So no, it was not '100 per cent signed'.”

The MMA star has never boxed before and has been much better known throughout his life as a jiu-jitsu black belt, as opposed to a striker. He won both of his Bellator fights by submission and didn't appear to be the most rounded striker during those bouts as they were stood up.
Meanwhile, Paul is in search of his first win in the ring after three separate attempts. He drew with KSI in a white-collar bout back in 2018 before losing their rematch by split decision after controversially having two points taken away when he punched KSI while he was down.
Then in 2021, Paul sensationally made his return to the ring in an exhibition bout with legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. He took Mayweather, who many believe to be the greatest boxer of all time, the distance using his 35lb size advantage but no scores were made by the judges and no winner was declared.
