Disgraced rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs publicly joked about locking women in his house at parties he hosted, according to resurfaced interviews from 2002.
Diddy was arrested in New York earlier this week, and since then, countless people have come forward with allegations about the rapper.
In an interview on Late Night With Conan O’Brien back in 2002, Diddy — then-well known for his partying — was asked for his best hosting tips.
“This is what you need to do. Women. Beautiful women, of course. Beautiful men for the ladies, of course,” the rapper told O’Brien.
“You need some water. I don’t know if guys have noticed this but a lot of ladies drink water at parties, so if you don’t have what they need, they’re going to leave. Gotta keep them there. Need locks on the doors.”
O’Brien responded saying that the parties sounded “kinda dangerous”, but instead of backtracking, Diddy doubled down.
“You need a lot of heat. Don’t have no airconditioning. Heat affects the alcohol but everybody also gets a little more comfortable and loose … builds up a nice little sweat,” he added.
Finally, he added that “you need good music and you need me, of course.”
O’Brien said the parties sounded “disgusting”.
22 years after the interview, more details about Diddy’s alleged parties have emerged.
The parties allegedly involved “freak offs” — a term given to the sexual encounters that Diddy allegedly “arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded”.
One drug dealer, who remains anonymous for obvious reasons, told the New York Post what he allegedly saw at one of these parties.
“Weird shit was starting to happen. Celebrity guys fucking each other. There were back bedrooms and it was like the inner sanctum,” he said.
“You’d see two people you would not think would be hooking up, rappers, that was what shocked me.
“I won’t say names but there were rappers that I immediately lost respect for and could not take seriously ever again.”
Combs is being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he has been denied bail twice. He has been placed on suicide watch, but his actual mental state is unclear.
Diddy’s next hearing is set for Tuesday, September 24.
