Diarra From Detroit Season 2 Proved It’s One Of The Most Underrated Mystery Shows

Detroit Diarra Kilpatrick Paramount
Diarra Kilpatrick talking off her glasses in Diarra from Detroit. .

While watching Diarra from Detroit with my Paramount+ subscription, it made me realize that there aren’t many mystery series with a Black lead, especially a female Black lead. That automatically makes this show a lot more interesting than many mystery TV shows - at least for me. I love mystery TV shows, books, and movies, but never even considered that I could find a relatable one.

I am not from Detroit, but I grew up in urban areas, so I can relate to Diarra’s (Diarra Kilpatrick) love and frustration with her imperfect city. The show embraces its imperfections even more in Season 2, with her band of “Ghetto Goonies” trying to find a treasure.
