'Destroy' - Nottingham Forest midfielder sent message after completing transfer

Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting to the news that midfielder Tyrese Fornah has joined Shrewsbury Town on loan.

Fornah will spend the remainder of the campaign with the League One side in order to get more senior football under his belt.

The 22-year-old has made three first-team appearances for Forest this season, two of them in the Carabao Cup.

His only Championship outing came in the 2-1 home defeat to Blackburn Rovers while Chris Hughton was still in charge, though he was on the bench for the recent clash with Huddersfield Town.

When he signed a new contract last month, head coach Steve Cooper admitted a loan switch was a possibility for Fornah, and that has now been confirmed.

Shrewsbury manager and former Reds boss Steve Cotterill admitted Fornah was a target last summer.

"We're very happy to have Ty, he's a player we had our eye on last summer when Chris Hughton was in charge of Forest but that one couldn't materialise at the time," he told the club’s official website.

"We revisited it in this window because we do need another midfielder in there so we're pleased to have Tyrese in the building. He's a very good lad, nice lad, and I'm sure he'll fit in."

Forest fans have wished Fornah good luck in his latest loan spell.

"Convinced there's a first team regular in the making there. Think he'll rip up League One," one fan said on Twitter.

Another added: "Best of luck, another fantastic product of the academy. Getting these moves proves we see promise in him and hopefully he comes back an even better player for it."

Here is the rest of the reaction...

Forest FanBase: "Come back ready to play a big part next season - whatever league we are in then - classy player, exactly the type to build a team around."

NFFCFAMILY: "Show those silky skills mate."

Terah Hooley: "Shrewsbury have bagged themselves a baller of a CDM! Imo should be included in first team more often!"

CosmicToxic: "Good move for him, look forward to seeing him around the 1st team more from next season."

Mike NFFC: "Some signing that for Shrewsbury, good luck."

Mark Booth: "Good luck Tyrese, you've got this!"

ForestFan: "Tyrese you are AWESOME know you will smash it there. All the best mate and see you in the Forest starting 11 next season. You Redssssss."

NFFCRed: "Hopefully this loan do ya good come back next season fight for first team spot!"

Liam Henshaw: "It was incredibly vital that Tyrese gets out on loan and gets minutes. We know he's got ball playing ability, we know he's an athletic midfielder. I'm hoping he can improve his aerial ability and willingness to always look forward with passes. Looking forward to watching him."

Chris Kearney: "Salop with a very good player for the rest of the season. Minutes under the belt now the most important thing for Tyrese."

GhostDNB: "Tyrese is going to absolutely destroy that league, good luck."
