A luxury breed cat who had it's leg amputated after it and three other felines fell from a tower block in Aberdeen has been happily re-homed.
Some of the animals died due to the impact and others were severely injured during the incident on on October 28, 2022. But Orwell, a Scottish Fold cat, was saved by the animal charity after he was spotted by a member of the public , vomiting and lying outside immobile.
Animal rescue officer Aimee arrived at the scene and found the two-year-old moggy curled up in a pile of leaves. He was whisked out of the cold and rushed to the vets for emergency care.
Sadly, Orwell - who has now been renamed Jura - had completely broken his front leg and had to have it amputated.
After the procedure, he learned how to live life with three legs as he received lots of tender love and care from the team at the Aberdeenshire Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
Two months later, he was was spotted by Margaret and Anne who immediately fell in love with him and renamed him Jura due to his smokey grey fur and amber eyes which match the couple’s favourite whiskey.
Now living his dream life in the Trossachs, Jura enjoys 'zoomies' up and down the stairs and bedtime cuddles with his new owners. The moggie particularly enjoys playing with shoe laces and his homemade catnip mouse.
Jacqueline McEwen, manager for the Aberdeenshire centre, said: "We are so glad Jura has found the loving home he deserves after his injuries last year and would like to thank Margaret and Anne for sharing stories of his wonderful new life."
