Derry's Halloween Carnival Parade finally returns to the city on Monday after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
Organised by the North West Carnival Initiative, the Carnival Parade will bring the festival to a thrilling close on October 31 from 7pm.
Some of the City’s finest performers will bring the story of the 9th Wave to life, reawakening the river Gods for a fearsome display of magic and mayhem led by some of our most spooky spirits of the deep.

The Halloween parade traditionally involves hundreds of local performers from schools, clubs and groups right across the City and District, helping it to retain the community spirit that has always been at the heart of Derry’s world-class festivities.
What route will the parade take?
The parade will set off from along the Quay making its way to Strand Road, passing the police station, before heading for Harbour Square and along the Foyle Embankment carriageway.
What roads will be closed on Halloween night?
To ensure that everyone has the very best Halloween experience this year, Derry City and Strabane District Council has issued information to help avoid the queues, and access all the events over the weekend safely and easily.
A number of arrangements and closures have been put in place to ensure the safe delivery of the event, and everyone is being asked to plan ahead and follow the directions of stewards and police.
There will be no major road closures on Halloween night, with most of the closures coming during the Awakening of the Walled City event between October 28-30.
However, motorists are advised that sections of the Strand Road, Queens Quay and Foyle Embankment Carriageway will be closed to motorists on Monday evening for the carnival parade and fireworks finale.
