Derry city centre security alert warning as public urged to be 'vigilant' following reports of supicious device

Derry NI PSNI

Police in Derry has asked the public to be vigilant after they received an early morning report that a device had been left in the city centre area.

The PSNI said that they were conducting checks in the John Street, Carlisle Road and Foyle Embankment areas of the city on Tuesday morning.

It's understood that police have already carried out a number of checks as part of their enquiries.
