Dermot Bannon shares boozy ham recipe as he talks Christmas plans with wife and kids

Dermot Bannon has opened up about his Christmas plans as he and his family prepare for the big day.

The architect and TV personality is organiser-in-chief and will take control of all the cooking.

Speaking to RSVP Live, he said it'll be a hectic festive season for him, his wife Louise, and their three kids Sarah, James and Tom.

He also shared his boozy ham recipe as he plans to go all out in the kitchen.

Dermot said: "Christmas Day looks like a big pile of stress because I am stuck with the dinner every single year. I do every single thing. I say that, but I actually love it.

"I have been reading Neven Maguire’s book over the last month and I do this ham that is steamed for 12 hours.

"I go all out. If I am doing something at all, I will do it right. But I do get very stressed."

Revealing what he does to make the mouth watering dish, the RTE star said: "You get Bulmers and pour it in your tray.

"Stick your ham on top of it and slow cook it for 12 hours with ginger. It is absolutely delicious."

Dermot will also have some guests over on the day.

He said: "My mum comes over every year and she’s a bit of a card shark so we play a game of poker."
