Dennis Politic seals Bolton Wanderers exit as transfer to Italian side as sell-on clause confirmed

Bolton Wanderers attacker Dennis Politic has completed a permanent move away from the club and sealed a transfer to Italian Serie B side Cremonese.

The 21-year-old joined Wanderers aged 15 and came through the youth ranks at the University of Bolton Stadium, making his debut for the club in August 2019.

He played a total of 30 times for Bolton in all competitions, scoring five times.

Politic had recently been on loan at League Two side Port Vale this season and racked up 15 appearances with the Valiants, scoring five times.

But Wanderers recalled Politic from his loan spell at Vale Park after a bid from another club was accepted and he has now completed a move to Cremonese.

Politic had been offered a fresh contract earlier this campaign, but this was turned down and his deal with the club was poised to run out this summer.

He has moved to the Italian side for an undisclosed fee and a sell-on clause has been inserted into the deal.

Wanderers boss Ian Evatt said: "Financially it’s a good deal for us with everything that has been built in to make it happen and protect our interests, so it’s a good move for the club and for Dennis.

“He played at some difficult times for the club but also had some good moments and memories and we wish him well for the future.

“He had a really bad injury at the start of last season but he’s a tough young man, who’s come back well to earn this opportunity.

“We’ll see how his career develops from here and hope he goes on to be a success in Italy which will be great for him, and potentially, us in the long term.”
