Denis Zakaria faces an uncertain future at Chelsea with the Swiss midfielder yet to play a single minute for the Blues this season.
Thomas Tuchel was keen to bring Zakaria to Stamford Bridge as the 25-year-old sealed a deadline day loan move that includes an option-to-buy clause. The Switzerland international is yet feature in the matchday squad since Graham Potter replaced Tuchel as manager at Stamford Bridge, sparking speculation that his loan could be terminated in the January transfer window.
Zakaria has admitted he enjoys a challenge but he is yet to impress Potter enough to warrant a place in the squad, let alone a starting place in the team. Chelsea are thought to be keen on signing a new central midfielder next summer with the futures of N'Golo Kante and Jorginho still in doubt as both players enter the final eight months of their current deals at Stamford Bridge.
