Denise Welch says she and her husband Lincoln Townley have 'turned their lives around' as they were announced as winners of new BBC show Unbreakable.
The premise of the series is that celebrity couples take part series of emotional, mental and physical challenges in a bid to prove the strength of their own relationship and to reveal things they may not have known about each other. Over the last few weeks, couples including infamous Pimlico Plumbers boss Charlie Mullins and his wife have been voted out and in Thursday's final, millions of BBC One viewers saw Denise and Lincoln triumph over Shirley Ballas and Danny Taylor, and Stephen Bailey and Rich Taylor.
Speaking in the immediate aftermath of their victory, Denise said: "I am overjoyed, I can’t tell you. We had no doubt that we were unbreakable, but I’m just really glad to share that story with other people. It’s never too late to turn your life around. I love Lincoln and this is just the icing on the cake - and to have such a lovely reaction from people that you have grown very close to, it is very very very special."

Denise and Lincoln first met in a London nightclub in 2011, before tying the knot in a sun-drenched wedding ceremony in Portugal in 2013. Throughout their time on /unbreakable, both Denise and Lincoln, spoke openly about their their journey from addiction to sobriety, having both met during a difficult time in their lives.
Sharing a clip of their winning Unbreakable moment on Twitter, former Coronation Street and Waterloo Road actress Denise wrote: "We won!!! It’s nice to show that we turned our lives around and have such a happy marriage as a result. It’s never too late." Reacting to Denise's post, one of her followers replied: "I think many people including myself were inspired by your story. It is one of hope, happiness and love. Congratulations to you both and thank you for your honesty throughout."
Also happy with the result, another told her: "You two are such an amazing couple and so inspirational in so many ways. Cheers to love!" with a third tweeting: "Amazing, you both were absolutely brilliant"
