Democratic Delegates Remain Supportive Of President Biden

U.S. President Joe Biden campaigns ahead of Nevada's Democratic presidential primary, in Las Vegas

Despite growing concerns over President Biden's age and mental acuity, Democratic delegates continue to show their support for him as the 2024 election approaches. Following a challenging debate against former President Donald Trump and a press conference at NATO, some elected Democrats have called for Biden to step aside, but many delegates remain steadfast in their backing of the president.

During interviews with Fox News Digital, several Democratic delegates expressed their unwavering support for Biden and their intention to vote for him at the upcoming party convention. Some delegates even dismissed the idea of Vice President Kamala Harris as a replacement, emphasizing the strong partnership between Biden and Harris.

Joanne Chesley, a Biden delegate from North Carolina, praised the president's performance, stating, 'I think he did an awesome job last night. His clarity and spontaneity, along with well-informed responses, left me super impressed.' Maribel Balbin, a delegate from Miami, acknowledged the concerns raised about Biden but emphasized that such issues were not new and did not alter her positive view of the president.

Similarly, Karl Gentles, a delegate from Arizona, maintained his support for Biden, describing any potential replacement as a 'disaster' for the Democratic Party. Gentles highlighted Biden's experience and accomplishments during his administration, arguing that changing the candidate at this late stage would be detrimental.

Overall, the sentiments expressed by these Democratic delegates reflect a continued loyalty to President Biden, despite the challenges and criticisms he faces. As the party's convention approaches, it remains to be seen how this support will translate into the broader Democratic electorate's views leading up to the 2024 election.
