England defender Demi Stokes has signed a one-year contract extension at Manchester City.
The 31-year-old, who moved to the Academy Stadium in the summer of 2015, has made 199 appearances in all competitions for City to date, scoring seven goals. The full-back has lifted seven trophies during her time in Manchester so far, including three Continental Tyres League Cups, three Women’s FA Cups and one Barclays Women’s Super League title.
Stokes was also a part of England's EURO-winning squad last summer and has twice been named in the PFA Women’s Super League Team of the Year. But last season was a turbulent one for the defender, who featured in just three WSL games owing to a series of injury setbacks.
