Leeds could be hosting the world's biggest singing competition in 2023.
Twenty UK cities expressed interest in hosting the Eurovision Song Contest next year after it was decided that Ukraine won't be able to stage it due to the ongoing war. Of the twenty cities, seven have now been shortlisted - and two are in Yorkshire.
On Friday, August 12, it was announced that Birmingham, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield are all in the running to host the competition next year. Leeds City Council said it was "absolutely thrilled" to have made the shortlist.
