Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke and party leader Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained by Delhi Police at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday, October 10, ahead of the party's proposed protest at Jantar Mantar. A video shared by the party shows Dipke reacting to the detention, saying, “Even Indra Gandhi didn't do this.” In the video, Dipke is also heard saying, “Arrest hone liye hi aaya hu.” The footage, shared by the Cockroach Janta Party on social media, shows the leader questioning the police action after the three party members were detained following their arrival in the national capital.
The CJP had planned to hold a demonstration at Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in electoral rolls. Delhi Police had denied permission for the proposed protest, citing law and order concerns.
