Delhi HC seeks police response on Sharjeel Imam’s bail petition

NEW DELHI: Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought police’s stand on bail plea of JNU student Sharjeel Imam, pointing out that the trial court failed to deal with the issue of sedition that requires specific calls for violence.

Iman was arrested in a case related to alleged inflammatory speeches made by him during protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens in 2019.
