Colorado’s Deion Sanders has been making waves and drawing attention to the program since he became the team’s coach. Coach Prime has been particularly successful in landing some of the nation’s top recruits, and he added another player to his ranks on Tuesday in rather bizarre fashion.
Sanders was on Instagram Live on Tuesday when he earned the commitment of a four-star recruit directly from the comment section.
Four-star athlete Aaron Butler, who plays football at Calabasas High School in California, was taking in Sanders’ Instagram Live stream when he announced his commitment to the Buffaloes in a written comment on the video.
“Well, I think that describes me to a tee, Coach, no cap,” wrote Butler in the comment section of Sanders’ Instagram Live. “With that being said, I want to officially announce my commitment to the University of Colorado to the world. #WECOMING.”

Butler then joined the live video while Sanders, who refused to speak at that point amid fear of committing a recruiting violation, celebrated the addition of the four-star recruit.
Butler was in Boulder for the program’s spring game, something which played a role in him committing to the program.
“My last visit was for the Spring Game and you can just tell big things are coming. I see a lot of opportunity to step in play right away and I love the talent that's coming in. I know a lot of people were stressing about the players leaving but trust, there are some dogs coming in,” said Butler, via 247Sports.
247Sports heralds Butler as the 95th overall prospect on its Composite Rankings, the No. 7 athlete in the nation, and the No. 12 recruit out of California.
