Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has canceled his upcoming trip to Brussels, where he was set to attend a NATO defense meeting. This decision comes after Austin was admitted to the critical care unit of Walter Reed Hospital over the weekend for treatment of an emergent bladder issue.
This is not the first health-related setback that Austin has faced. On New Year's Day, he was hospitalized due to complications arising from his prostate cancer treatment. During that time, he temporarily transferred his duties to his deputy, Kathleen Hicks.
