Declan Rice trolls Manchester United duo Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford with Neymar comment

Declan Rice has trolled Jesse Lingard and Manchester United star Marcus Rashford by referencing a chat they had about Brazil superstar Neymar.

Having spent 22 years at Old Trafford, Lingard will finally leave United when his contract expires this month — and he could link up with Rice at West Ham. Of course, they combined to devastating effect towards the back end of the 2020/2021 season when Lingard headed to the London Stadium on loan.

He scored nine goals and provided five assists in 16 matches for the Hammers to revive his career, but there was to be no way back into the first-team picture at United for Lingard. The 29-year-old is now available on a free transfer this summer window and West Ham are among those chasing his signature.

Before making a decision on his next move, Lingard is enjoying some down-time and has been spotted mixing it up with Brazilian football royalty on his break. Uploading two pictures to his Instagram profile, Lingard posed alongside PSG forward Neymar and former Barcelona sensation Ronaldinho.

His post has drawn in thousands of likes and comments, although Rice — a long-term transfer target for United — could not resist the temptation to poke fun at a player he could well be reunited with in the West Ham dressing room for next season. Neymar was the subject of a viral video between Lingard and Rashford in 2018.

While on England duty together, Lingard and Rashford spoke about their past meeting with PSG and Neymar and it led Rashford to a grilling from his former United teammate. Lingard could not believe it when Rashford claimed that he had spoken to Neymar about the weather while standing next to him in the tunnel.

Lingard mocked Rashford in the video and said: "Yo, Neymar, it's sunny innit?"

After seeing Lingard upload a picture alongside Neymar on social media, Rice spotted his chance and posted that quote word for word in the comments section. Needless to say, it has been liked thousands of times by followers who remember the Lingard and Rashford exchange.
