Declan Rice sends Jarrod Bowen message amid Liverpool transfer rumours

Declan Rice has declared Jarrod Bowen a future 'star' amid continued transfer links with Liverpool.

The 25-year-old scored the winner for West Ham United on Tuesday evening, moving the Hammers back into the top four.

With Bowen repeatedly linked with a move to Anfield in recent months, it is worth noting why the Englishman is generating so much attention.

In just 34 appearances for David Moyes' side this season, the former Hull City man has found the net 11 times, as well as registering 10 assists along the way too.

With many now calling for Bowen to be rewarded with his first England call-up later this year, fellow countryman and Hammers teammate Declan Rice honoured the 25-year-old's recent form.

''Without his goals we’d be struggling. He’s really stepped it up,'' began the England international.

''His goals and assists - he’s a really top player and he’s going to be a star.''

With Moyes also lauding praise the way of Bowen following the full-time whistle, the Hammers' boss insisted the in-form midfielder has a habit of delivering when his side need him most.

''I think at different times of the season you need players to stand up,'' began the 58-year-old.

''Michail Antonio was fantastic in the early part of the season. When his goals dried up, Bowen was the one to step in.

"He looks more mature and calm in his decisions. [The goal] was probably the first time in the game we got through the lines.

''It took us about 70 minutes or so to get that chance. Thankfully it fell to Jarrod, because he’s the one in form with his goalscoring."
