Reports from hospital officials confirm that a devastating attack on a hospital within the Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza has resulted in at least 16 fatalities and 17 injuries. Dr. Hussam Abu Saifiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, revealed that the bodies of the deceased, many of whom were burnt, have been received at the facility.
The strike targeted tents set up on the grounds of Al-Yemen Al-Sa’eed Hospital, as stated by Abu Saifiya. Kamal Adwan Hospital is now the sole fully operational medical facility in northern Gaza, following orders from the Israeli military for three hospitals in the region, including Kamal Adwan, to evacuate.
On Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they had surrounded the Jabalya refugee camp after detecting the presence of Hamas members. The same day, a strike on the camp claimed the lives of at least 10 individuals and left 20 others wounded, according to officials at Kamal Adwan Hospital.
Dr. Abu Saifiya reported on Monday that the Israeli military had issued a directive for Kamal Adwan Hospital to evacuate within 24 hours, further escalating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
