Deadliest Catch star’s cause of death revealed

  • Todd Meadows, a 25-year-old star of Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch, died on February 25 while filming on the Aleutian Lady fishing boat in Alaskan waters.
  • His death certificate confirmed the cause as drowning with probable hypothermia due to submersion in cold water, which was ruled an accident.
  • Meadows was found unresponsive 10 minutes after falling overboard, and resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful, according to the United States Coast Guard Arctic District.
  • His mother, Angela, has publicly requested that the Discovery Channel not air any footage of the accident and has asked for footage of her son's time on the boat.
  • Meadows' death, which left behind a wife and three children, led to the conclusion of filming for the upcoming 22nd season shortly after the incident.
