David Moyes has vowed to give a number of West Ham’s burgeoning talents a chance in Thursday night’s Europa Conference League clash with FCSB.

The Hammers travel to Bucharest for their final group stage game safe in the knowledge that they have already secured a place in the last-16.

Still, boasting a perfect record in the competition thus far, Moyes has shrugged off any suggestion he was taking the trip lightly, vowing to try and finish the first stage on a high.

“We’re going to give some of the younger players an opportunity in the game. We’ve left the bulk of the players back home and we’re looking forward to the game,” said Moyes at Wednesday’s pre-match press conference.

“There are still a lot of senior players involved and they all want to be playing, so hopefully we can go to FCSB and get that sixth victory.”

Nayef Aguerd could be one of the more experienced players who feature in the Romanian capital as the defender builds up his fitness ahead of the World Cup.

The Moroccan international made his debut against Silkeborg after being made to wait following an ankle injury picked up in a preseason friendly.

“We hope Nayef can play again, hopefully as long as he can. We’re trying to get him back and these games have been really good for him,” added Moyes.

“We included him the squad from the start because we hoped he might be available for the last couple of games, and that’s the way it’s proved to be. Hopefully we can get him another good part of a game under his belt.”
