David Moyes confident of West Ham transfer activity amid interest in Conor Gallagher and Harry Maguire

David Moyes remains confident West Ham will be able to add to their squad during what remains of the transfer window.

After a summer dominated by Declan Rice’s departure, the Hammers are yet to bring in any major signings.

Bids for both Harry Maguire and Joao Palhinha have been rejected by Manchester United and Fulham respectively.

The club, however, are optimistic they can beat rivals Tottenham to the signing of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher despite seeing an opening offer of £40m rejected.

James Ward-Prowse is another target as Moyes look to build on winning the Europa Conference League last season. They are also in advanced talks to sign Manchester City winger Carlos Borges for around £14m.

The Scot believes the shortened summer West Ham are dealing with as a result has had an impact but is hopeful of being able to strengthen after losing such a key player in Rice.

“Because of the shortness of the summer and being in Australia, the amount of time we have had together has been limited, but I’m sure we’ll get down to work and do what we have to do,” he told Sky Sports.

"The club have made several offers for players. We are out in the market. We are quite active. Hopefully some of them will come off in the future.”
