David de Gea has told Manchester United’s youngsters to take note of Cristiano Ronaldo’s mentality and attitude.
A number of young stars were handed their senior debuts by Ralf Rangnick last season, including Alejandro Garnacho and Charlie Savage. A number of others are hoping to edge their way into the first-team set-up under new United boss Erik ten Hag.
James Garner, who helped Nottingham Forest to Premier League promotion last season, and United Under-23s' Player of the Year, Alvaro Fernandez, will be amongst the young stars hoping to claim a place in the Dutch coach’s plans.

In an in-house media interview, De Gea said they should all look up to Ronaldo and consider his approach to his profession. The Spaniard outlined how Ronaldo's mindset and determination make him one of the greatest to have ever played the game.
“He’s great,” he said. “The way he works speaks for himself. The way he treats himself, his body.
“He is focused in every training session and every game. This is why he is one of the best in history. He’s mentally very strong and that’s an example for everyone."
