Sir David Beckham is set to join the hit video game Fortnite as a new playable character.
The likeness of the 51-year-old former England player will be added to the game alongside a series of outfits that emulate his signature style, including a suave black suit and a football kit.
This collaboration, which officially places him in the Fortnite Icon Series, was announced in a trailer shared by the game on YouTube.
The footage shows the former footballer wearing his signature number seven shirt as he scores a goal with extreme force.
Players can dress the character in his "Club Owner" outfit, consisting of a sharp black suit embellished with a club crest.
In the clip, Sir David's character is seen watching himself play football.
Furthermore, a shirtless option displays the glowing gold tattoos on his arms, torso, neck, and hands that are "reactive" and glow with every single elimination.
Players will be able to emulate the stars’ likeness and also shoot a ball into a goal with his Shot Emote, which imitates his famous free-kick technique – known as “Bend it like Beckham”.
The collaboration also includes tools such as the Meteor Baller Pickaxe, which “gets you the perfect strike” as well as the Number Seven Scythe Pickaxe.
Sir David said: “Fortnite creates new and exciting ways to connect with fans around the world.
“It’s been great working with them to create something that celebrates my career on and off the pitch.”
The London-born star previously teased his Fortnite look and outfit changes, known as skins, in a post to Instagram with a snap of himself helping with his character design.
The post also featured Beckham walking past a mirror whilst on the phone discussing the new collaboration, with his reflection revealing his Fortnite self and his skin.
This is Sir David’s first collaboration with the video game as he follows in the footsteps of other footballers who have featured, including Lionel Messi, Harry Kane and Marco Reus.
The former Manchester United player has previously appeared in video games, most notably across EA’s Fifa football games, having appeared as a playable character across the franchise multiple times.
Sir David is famed for his successful two-decade career in football, which has seen him become the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France.
He is also married to Spice Girl Lady Victoria Beckham and the couple have four children together – Romeo, Cruz, Harper and their eldest son Brooklyn, with whom they have an ongoing family feud.
Sir David will be joining the Fortnite Icon Series on July 18 at 1am BST.
