David Beckham has sent a message of good luck to Manchester United’s Under-18s squad ahead of their FA Youth Cup final at Old Trafford this evening.
More than 70,000 will be packed inside Old Trafford to watch the next generation of United talent take on Nottingham Forest as they go for a record-extending 11th title. As part of the Class of 92, Beckham lifted the same trophy in 1992.
After scoring in the 3-1 first-leg win, Beckham, along the likes of Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, ran out 3-2 winners over Crystal Palace in the second leg. The club legend has since called it his favourite trophy success.

In a video message to United ’s youngsters on Wednesday, Beckham said: “I just wanted to wish you good luck for tonight against Nottingham Forest in the FA Youth Cup final.
“Thirty years (since the 1992 final win), I got reminded of earlier by Gary Neville, which is a long time ago. But I remember how special the night was.
“I remember that it was actually the most important trophy that I ever won and the most special trophy. So enjoy yourself.
“When we played 30 years ago, we probably had 30-35,000 there. Tonight, you’re going to have a full house so enjoy it. The fans are there to support you.
“You’re going to make the club proud, you’re going to make yourselves proud and you’re going to make your parents proud. Enjoy yourselves, and good luck.”
