Roberto Firmino will lead Liverpool’s attack in their Community Shield clash against Manchester City.
Firmino has been preferred to £64million summer signing Darwin Nunez, who has to be content with a place on the bench at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium today.
Jurgen Klopp has chosen to start with the team that ended Wednesday’s 1-0 friendly defeat at Red Bull Salzburg.

With Alisson Becker not yet ready and Caoimhin Kelleher injured, Adrian continues in goal. Joel Matip has been chosen to partner Virgil van Dijk at centre-back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold right-back and Andy Robertson left-back.
In midfield, Jordan Henderson skippers the side with Fabinho in the anchor role and Thiago Alcantara also starting. And up front, Firmino is joined by Mohamed Salah on the right and Luis Diaz on the opposite flank.
With Liverpool entertaining Strasbourg in a friendly tomorrow evening, the likes of youngsters Isaac Mabaya, Tyler Morton and Stefan Bajcetic have not been included on the bench. Kostas Tsimikas, Diogo Jota and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all injured.
